A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kinde. (5090 Dwight St.) Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Friday from 10am until the time of service at 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour
She is survived by four children, Henry Jr. (Jeanette) of Port Austin, Dennis (Rebecca) of DeWitt, Dale of Tenakee, AK, and Susan Ziel Hardisty of Flint. She was blessed with grandchildren, Mark Ziel, Michelle (Steve) Gayari, Chad (SuNa) Ziel, Crystal Ziel, Jon (Emilie) Ziel, Kim Ziel, Brian Ziel, Allison (Rogelio) Ziel-Varo, Rudy Ziel (fiancée- Frances Speno), Darcie Ziel (fiancé- Rick Peterson), Tyler Hardisty (fiancée- Danielle Couchman), and Anna Hardisty. She also leaves six great grandchildren, Hanna Ziel, Shawn and Kyle Gayari, Harper Ziel, Kai and Mia Ziel-Varo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Milton (Neva) Albrecht and two sisters, Ella (Rudolph) Ziel and Marion (Wilbur) Jahr.
Beatrice Ruth Ziel, 95, died, Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Meadow Lanes in Bad Axe. She lived there the past three years supported by a committed and loving staff. She was born on June 10, 1917 in Owendale, daughter of the late Daniel and Adeline (Schmidt) Albrecht. Beatrice married Henry Ziel on December 30, 1939. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1980. Together, they owned and operated a dairy farm near Port Austin. Beatrice was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kinde most of her life. In earlier years she was very active in the women’s organizations there. She provided countless coffee cakes for bake sales and loved to quilt for the Lutheran World Relief. “Granny” had a green thumb for growing vegetables and flowers, enjoying and sharing this talent into her 90’s. She also enjoyed reading and bird watching.
