Funeral Information

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. Craig Pillow, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Friday and at the church after 10 AM Saturday. A special thank you to the staff at Courtney and Dr. Richard and Jean Lockard for their caring and concern. Memorials may be given to her church and words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.

Family of the Deceased

Surviving are three sons, Donald (Ruth) Ewald of Sand Point, Roger (Pat) Ewald of Elkton and Larry (Diane) Ewald of Port St Lucie, FL; six grandchildren; Jeff (Sue) Ewald, Julie (Steve) Pridgeon, Steve (Bonnie Richmond) Ewald, Mike Ewald, Robin (Rev. Dr. Craig) Oosterveen and Greg Ewald; eight great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob, Chloe, Kendal, Connor, Kennedy, Blake and Tyler; two brothers, Matt Fritz and Richard Fritz both of Elkton; a sister, Luella Ewald of Elkton; sisters-in-laws, Leona Fritz of Elkton and Meida Fuller of Sebewaing and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were brothers, Norman, Leonard, Wallace, Otis, Calvin and Willard Fritz and a sister, Vernita Schuester.

Biography

Aldine R. Ewald age 95 of Elkton died Saturday evening, January 17, at Courtney Manor Bad Axe. She was born March 24, 1919 in Owendale to the late Charles and Louise (Steinman) Fritz. On February 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Milford W. Ewald at the Owendale Methodist Church. In 1957, they moved to East Detroit while Milford was employed at Chrysler Corp. Milford retired in 1975 and they moved back to Elkton in 1978. Milford preceded her in death April 14, 1986. She was a faithful member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her flower garden; spending winters in Florida with her sons and baking cookies and pies for her grandchildren.
