Funeral service will be on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Bad axe.. Visitation will be at the Knoblock Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 pm and on Monday from 10-11 am at the church. Burial will take place in the Port Austin Township Cemetery.
She is survived by her children: Marion Chaplinski of Port Austin, Gail (Nelson) Young of Bad Axe, Marsha (William) Jimkoski of Port Austin, Cheryl (Marvin) Jeffrey of Stanton, MI, and Robert Pitcher of Filion. Her grandchildren: Michelle McIntyre and her special friend Tim Hatch, Mike Chaplinski and his special friend Cindy Ruth, Brian (Brenda) Young, Brenda (Dave) Krotchen, Keith (Patty) Jimkoski, Dawn (Allen) Slater, Marv (Carol) Jeffrey, David (Sherri) Jeffrey, Shannon Pitcher (Sergion), Sean (Heather) Pitcher, and Ryan (Stacie) Pitcher. Her Great-grandchildren: Bryce, Drew, and Paige McIntyre; Kayla and Hunter Chaplinski; Erica (Dan) Rich, Nick Krotchen, Lucy Jimkoski, Alissa Harrison, Anna Tristain, Sadie Slater, Tyler DeBardelaben, Trent Schilavone, Maggie and Molly Pitcher, Gage Jackson, Gia and Ryan Pitcher, Jr. Also her great-great-grandchildren Joey and Ben Rich, and one brother, Don Merrick, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Betty Grecian, Jose Merrick, and Dorothy McPhee.
Alma Pitcher, 92, of Filion, died Thursday at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad axe. She was born July 9, 1923, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Vera (Pettit) Merrick. She and Roy Pitcher were married in Detroit, Michigan on July 31, 1943. He preceded her in death. She and her husband were lifetime Lincoln Township farmers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Frank Horetski Post 499 in Port Austin, a member of the U & I, Kinde Senior Citizens, and the First Presbyterian Church of Back Axe. Alma enjoyed playing cards, bowling and her family.
