Funeral service will be 11 am on Tuesday, July 26th at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde with Pastor Kathy Grimes officiating. Cremation will take place after the service. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Monday, July 25th at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde and from 10 am until time of service on Tuesday, July 26th. He is at rest in Heaven now. Memorials may be offered to the Kinde Presbyterian Church. Condolences can be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 70 years, Georgina Kreh of Kinde; his sons: Thomas (Kathleen) Kreh of Charlotte, William (Connie) Kreh of Weidman, and Robert (friend Marcie) Kreh of Alger; five grandchildren: Joshua (Jenny) Kreh, Matthew (Megan) Kreh, Sara (Troy) Stafford, Amanda (Kyle) Whymer, and Gracie Davis Kreh; three great grandchildren: Alexis, Collin, and Emerson Kreh. He was preceded in death by two sons, Alan D. Kreh and Timothy Kreh; grandson, Jason Kreh; his brother, James; and his sisters, Arlene Hilton, Grace Smith, and Helen Mott.

Biography

Alvin “Chick” V. Kreh, 90, of Lincoln Township, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on January 1, 1926 to the late Herbert and Bertha (Koehn) Kreh in Caseville, Michigan. Alvin graduated from Pigeon High School in 1944. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and spent 22 months in the South Pacific on the USS Oahu and mustered out in 1946. Alvin married Georgina Heasty in 1946. He was a Poultry farmer in Caseville and Kinde. Alvin was a member of the Kinde Presbyterian Church. When he had time, he loved to bowl, golf, hunt and fish. He always talked about wildlife, especially whitetails. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
