Services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Lueke, pastor. Burial will be in Port Hope Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 5 – 8 pm or Wednesday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. Family of the Deceased

Arnold is survived by his three sons, Gerald (Beverly) Steinbis of Bad Axe, George (JoAnn) Steinbis of Bad Axe and Brian Steinbis of Bad Axe, one daughter, Marilyn Boks of Bay City, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as Audrey Bolton of Chesterfield. Arnold was preceded in death by his four brothers, Paul, Erhardt, Theodore and Harold Steinbis and one sister, Esther Zick.

Biography

Arnold Bertram Steinbis, age 93, of Bad Axe passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Arnold was born in Port Hope on June 1, 1925, youngest of six children of the late Herman and Hedwig “Hattie” (Schultz) Steinbis. He married Carol Jean Perdue in August of 1961 in Port Hope. She preceded him in death in September 2004. Arnold was a long time Huron County farmer who also worked for Tower Automotive. He retired from farming in 1976 and from Tower in 1989. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was good with animals and had a pet goose “Charlie” who would ride with him in his truck. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Detroit Tigers.
