Funeral Services for Barbara will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 12noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach, with Rev. Ron Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Lawn Cemetery in Pigeon. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church beginning at 11am until time of services at 12noon. There will be a scripture service Tuesday evening at 7:30pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

Family of the Deceased

She is survived by two daughters, Leanne J. Smith of Kalamazoo and Lynelle Schott and her husband Matt of Harbor Beach and Mason, granddaughter Emma MacPherson and son-in-law Scott MacPherson of Harbor Beach. Barbara is also survived by her siblings Ronald Stein of Lake, Mississippi, Loren Stein of Pigeon, Linda Koerner of Furney, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanne MacPherson and siblings, RB Stein, Kenneth Stein, Marion Ellenbalm, Gerald Stein and infant twins Marilyn & Myra Stein.

Biography

BARBARA L. SMITH, age 78 of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Mason, Michigan with hospice care. She was born on September 20, 1936 in Pigeon, MI to the late Carl and Martha (Haifner) Stein. She and Sanford Lee Smith were united in marriage on June 11, 1955 in Linkville, MI. Lee preceded her in death on May 9, 1996. Barbara was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach, being a part of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and was an avid quilter and belonged to the Zion Quilters Club. She enjoyed flowers and was a member of the Harbor Beach Bloomers, planting flowers on the bike path. She is the former owner of the Smith Department Store and the Snack Shack bakery.
