Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will take place 11 am on Monday, November 17th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Cremation will follow the service at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am on Monday, November 17th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund. Beatrice is survived by daughter Rose Marie Pletcher of Fostoria, Ohio; sisters Rita Williams of Indiana, Doloris Matelski of Filion, Irene Strozeski of Kinde, Michalene Champagne of Bad Axe, Josephine Reehl of Bad Axe, and Mary Matelski of Kinde; sisters in law Vanise Matelski and Josephine Duda; brothers Leonard (Marlene) Matelski and Richie Matelski both of Kinde; brother in law Fred Harris; grandchildren Lori Kubacki of Port Huron, Larry Kubacki of Bad Axe, Tammy Noid of Ohio, Jason Pletcher of Ohio and Tawnya Pletcher of Fostoria, Ohio; great grandchildren, Jordan Noid, Maykia Fletcher, McKenzie Pletcher, and Jason Pletcher and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; daughter Shirley Kubacki; son Ronald Dobson; son in law Bob Pletcher; brother George Matelski; brothers in law Ervin Williams, Harry Strozeski, Jerry Champagne and Martin Reehl; sister Marge Harris; sister in law Eleanor Musser and brothers in law Stanley, John Dobson and Jerry Duda. Thank you to Bea’s adoptive family at Courtney Manor who took such good care of her and Ron for many years.

Biography

Beatrice H. Dobson, 91 of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2014 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. Beatrice was born on June 7, 1923 to the late Charles and Rose (Rice) Matelski in Kinde, Michigan. She married Joseph K. Dobson on March 25, 1942 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dwight Township. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2001. Bea worked at Brown’s Egg Plant in Bad Axe for many years.
