Survivors are his wife Donna of Port Austin; one daughter: Lynne D. and her husband Jerry Warner of Goodrich, MI; one son, Mark A. Rupersburg and his wife Linda of Grosse Point Woods, MI; three grandchildren, Blake Rupersburg, Bryan Warner and Phillip Warner (wife, Allison); two brothers Paul Rupersburg and his wife Judy of New Baltimore, MI and Frank Rupersburg and his wife Jean of Hartland, Mich.; one sister Judith of Arizona; son-in-law: William Bogen of Madison Heights, MI. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews; one sister in-law: Joan Baginski of Shelby Twp.; two brothers in-law Rodger Bruce and his wife, Rosemary of Albuquerque, N. M. and Clare Bruce and his wife, Yvonne of Marine City. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jill A. Bogen; three brothers- in-law: Gary and John Bruce and George Baginski; and two sisters-in-law: Kim Bruce and Susan Cuthbertson.

Biography

Burke Phillip Rupersburg, age 89, resident of Port Austin, passed away on October 13, 2021 at his home under hospice care. Mr. Rupersburg was born March 2, 1932 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of the late Burghardt and Florence (Eschner) Rupersburg. He and Miss Donna J. Bruce were married December 31, 1952 at the Utica United Methodist Church. Burke was a graduate of South Lake High School, in St. Clair Shores, MI. Class of 1950. He attended Chrysler Institute, Highland Park and Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant. He retired as manager of Advanced Technical Training after 27 years of employment with Chrysler Corporation. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps, as a staff Sergeant, during the Korean Conflict. He is a life member of Utica-Macomb Masonic Lodge F & AM #64, Scottish Rite, Valley of Fort Myers, FL. 32 degree; Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple Saginaw and served as current president of the Huron Shrine Club. He was a member of the American Legion in Lansing. His special interests and hobbies included flying remote control model planes, boating, golfing, wood working and enjoyed working in his yard. He and his wife spent several months in Punta Gorda, Florida each winter.
