In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Parish Hall in Argyle on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 1pm. Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.

Carol is survived by her son, Charles Becker, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Deckerville; daughter, Tammy of Argyle; and son, Jim of Ubly; grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Jones, Jason Schulz, Kyle Becker, Leann (Harry) Grifka, Kayla (James) Loomis, Nicole (Aaron) Roggenbuck, Nicholas Becker, and Jesse Becker; great grandchildren: Madison, Erik, Taylor, Ashley, Payton, Sara, Clayton, Cooper, Bristol, Easton, Hailey, and Harper; brother, Larry (Bunny) Keyser of Cass City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents: Hiram and Martha; brother, Dan; and special friend, John Franzel.

Biography

Carol Lee (Keyser) Becker, 76, of Ubly passed away at home on October 13, 2016 surrounded by the love of her family. Carol was born to Hiram and Martha (Ertel) Keyser of Cass City. In her early years, Carol worked as a nanny and cleaned homes. Often spending her earnings on fabric to sew a skirt and purchase new high heels. She married Charles Becker on November 22, 1958. Charles and Carol made their family home on Cass City Road where they raised their three children, Charles, Jr., Tammy, and Jim. Charles and Carol shared a love for animals. Together they started Becker’s Roadside Zoo that included a lion, monkeys, and many other animals. Until his death, they raised horses on their farm. She spent her later years with special friend John Franzel of Argyle. Carol was an avid gardener, great cook, and wonderful homemaker. She was always surrounded by children. She supported her children and the neighbor kids in their 4-H craft and animal projects. Her most favored hobby was spending time with her family but she also enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
