Funeral service for Jeanette will be 11 am on Thursday, September 29th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. Jerry Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at Verona Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm on Wednesday, September 28th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and on Thursday, September 29th from 10 am until time of service. Jeanette is survived by her son, Richard (Betty) Binder of Bad Axe; daughters: Judy Taylor of Cass City and Janice (Mel) Stonewall of Waterford; 7 grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jan) Binder, Darin (Beckie) Binder, Krystal (Mike) Kulbacki, Robert (Sari) Mellendorf, Steven Mellendorf, Lisa (Dustin) Marks and Kelli Stonewall; 15 great grandchildren: Justin (Krisha) Binder, Kyle Binder, Kole Binder, Karson Binder, Keegan Binder, Lillyan Kulbacki, Megan Mellendorf, Madison Mellendorf, Jackson Mellendorf, Noah Mellendorf, Raine Mellendorf, Aurora Krueger, Akalya Krueger, Aleigha Krueger and Jacob Marks; one great great grandson, Reid Ouvy; sisters in law, Elizabeth “Betty” Binder, Millie Steciak and Jean Stanton; brother in law, Carl Binder; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son in law, Arnold Taylor; brothers, Carl and Merle Stanton and sister, Elaine (Jack) Cramer.
Carol “Jeanette” Binder, 92, of Sigel Township and formerly of Verona Township, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2016 at Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born in Bad Axe on August 27, 1924 to the late William and Winifred (Hebner) Stanton. Jeanette graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1942. On November 20, 1943, she married Clarence R. Binder at Verona Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1996. Jeanette worked at numerous places, including: different fertilizer companies, the Stockyards in Bad Axe and in Cass City, and at Western Auto in Bad Axe. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bad Axe and was involved in the Order of the Eastern Star. Jeanette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning, baking, cooking, driving John Deere tractors and playing Rook.
