A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, January 14th, at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe, with Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating. Visitation for Clarence will be held on Thursday January 13th, from 2-8 PM at the MacAlpine Funeral home of Bad Axe, and also 10:00 until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be held in the spring with full military honors at Rapson Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the family in care of Roger Peyerk. Clarence is survived by his brothers; Sylvester (Marge) Peyerk , James (Janis) Peyerk , Alvin (Nancy) Peyerk , David Peyerk , sisters; Donna (Robert) Geiger , Janet (Tom) Danielski , Mary (Gary) Meharg , Suzanne (Dale) Stanton , Rita (Richard) Jackson , Barb (Rick) Rifenbark ; sisters in law, Vivian Peyerk, Bernice Yochim, Shirley (Norman) Ginther, June Moy, Rose Osantoski. Clarence was proceeded in death by his sisters Viola Polega, Genevieve Hupfer; his brothers Joseph Peyerk Jr., Eugene Peyerk; brothers in law Matthias Hupfer, Raymond Polega; and his wife’s parents Joseph (Emma) Schumacher; brothers and sisters in law Eli (Vera) Schumacher, Norman ( Helen) Schumacher, Leonard (Mary) Schumacher, Charles (Eleanor) Schumacher, George (Mary) Schumacher, Jack (Delores) Schumacher, Jim Schumacher, Laverne (Beverly) Schumacher, Loraine ( Ray) Hipp, Jenella (Joseph ) Cox, Ruth (Chris) Belger, Leila (Joseph) Haupt, Jean (Alfred) Gosdzinski, and Chester Moy.
Clarence P. Peyerk, 89 of Bad Axe, passed away on January 10, 2022, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Clarence was born on February 1, 1932, to the late Joe Peyerk Sr. and Edna (Talaski) Peyerk. Clarence married Lois Marie Schumacher on June 14, 1952, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before she preceded him in death. Clarence was in the Korean War, and served as a carpenter for 18 months, before returning home to his bride and raising a family and farming most of his life, and also working in auto body repair. Clarence enjoyed going to auction sales, trips to casinos, attending Polka dances with his wife, playing euchre and bingo, raising his rabbits and time spent with his family and friends. He was a member of the Rapson Sportsmen Club and the American Legion in Harbor Beach.
