Funeral Information

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, October 27, at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Rev. Fr. Rob Pare’, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and at the church after 10 AM Thursday. Memorials may be given to Family Discretionary Fund and words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.

Family of the Deceased

Surviving are two sons, Michael (Mary) Tait of Chandler Twp. and Steven (Cynthia) Tait of Lake Twp.; four grandchildren, Holly, Clara, Autumn and Evan; a brother, Robert (Norma) Tait of Lake Twp; sister, Kate Leitch of Pinnebog and sisters-in-law, Eleen Tait of Chandler Twp, Jeanine Tait of Pigeon and Phyllis Tait of Kawkawlin. Preceding him in death were three brothers, James, Bud and Leon Tait and brother-in-law, Donald Leitch.

Biography

David E Tait age79 lifelong Chandler Twp farmer passed away Monday afternoon, October 24, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. He was born March 3, 1937, in Lake Twp, at the home of his parents, the late LeRoy and Florine (Pechette) Tait. He grew up on the family farm in Lake Twp. and graduated from Elkton High School in 1955. On November 25, 1961, he was united in marriage to Suzanne M Petz at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. They raised their family and farmed together in Chandler Twp. Dave never truly retired and was still active on the farm. Sue preceded him in death October 17, 2013. Dave was a lifelong member of St Felix and now Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parrish. He served on the Chandler Twp Board as a Trustee for over 40 years and enjoyed playing cards, working in the fields and his morning coffee group at Walt’s in Caseville.
