Visitation is Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 3-8pm and Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 2-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. A private burial service will take place in the spring at Grant Twp. Cemetery in Gagetown. Memorial donations may be given to St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh or the family discretionary fund. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharon Engelhardt; Children: Sheila Pawlak (significant other John Rolando) of Gagetown, Debbie Mika of Cass City, and John (Christina) Engelhardt of Owendale; Grandchildren: Ashley Pawlak, Michael (Nicole) Pawlak, Taylor Craig, Evan Craig, Keith Mika, Emmalee Engelhardt, Logan Menzel and Madyson Menzel; his sister, Elaine Wildman of Sebewaing; and mother-in-law, Viola Weippert. Proceeded in death by his parents, Arnold Engelhardt and Elsie Engelhardt; brothers, Gary and Duane Engelhardt; brother-in-law, Jim Wildman; and father-in-law, Otto Weippert.

Biography

Dennis J. Engelhardt, age 70, of Gagetown, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at McClaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City. He was born April 24, 1942 to Arnold “Buzz” and Elsie C. (Bernhardt) Engelhardt, in Kilmanagh, MI. He married Sharon K. Weippert on April 4, 1964 at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. Dennis farmed all his life. His passions were farming, horses and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Brookfield Twp. Huron County Fair Board, and a lifelong member and Trustee at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. He worked at Evans Automotive and the Sebewaing Sugar Factory.
