A funeral mass will be at 11:00am Tuesday, August 25th at St. Roch-OLPH Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Visitation will be 2-9 Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to mass on Tuesday in church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences may be shared at www.cfcCaseville.com

He is survived by his wife Sandy; children Jason of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Danielle Smith of Caseville and Casey (Chelsey) of Caseville; son-in-law Stephen Smith of Sand Point; grandchildren Hayley, Lukas and Cameron; step-mother Judy Monette of Warren; and siblings Karen Monette of Harrison Twp, Donald (Patty) Monette of Warren, Larry (Norma) Monette of Warren, Colleen (Pete) Yodhes of Warren, Amy (Jason) Earl of Sterling Heights, Bill (Tina) Monette of Warren, Cindy (Pat) Yodhes of Warren, Mike (Mary) Frye of Commerce Twp and Buddy Frye of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Monette.

Biography

Dennis M. Monette, 60, of Caseville, died suddenly Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. Dennis was born January 9, 1955 in Detroit to the late William and Katherine (Dropchuk) Monette. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. He married Sandra Schmitz on December 5, 1975 in Richmond. They moved to the Thumb in 1992. He was the current owner of Production Curb and the Riverside Roadhouse, and the former owner of Fireside Restaurant and Sand Castles on the Beach. He was an active community member, involved in St. Roch Catholic Church, the Caseville Eagles Club #3690, Knights of Columbus, volunteer firefighter with Caseville Fire Department and an EMT. Dennis was a natural people person, able to make both strangers and friends feel welcome, with a special attention given to babies and dogs. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed travel, beach walking and spending time with his family.
