Funeral service for Pastor Don will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. Robert Prince and Rev. Harry Kern officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and on Monday, 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Don is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Deb Stroud of Bad Axe; his children: Donald L. Stroud and his wife, Rachel of Ypsilanti; Michelle J. Roetheli and her husband, Steffan of Kansas City, Missiouri; Matthew W. Stroud and his wife, Amber of Bad Axe and Mary E. Stimac and her husband, Sean of Vienna, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Samael, Ella, Savanna, Addisen, Noble, Isaac, Levi, Emma, Frances and Lucien; his brothers and sisters: Janet Williams and her husband, Matthew of Lindon, Utah, Robert Stroud and his wife, Shelley of Lake City, Florida and Edward Stroud of Bad Axe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Stroud.

Biography

Rev. Donald F. Stroud, 68, of Colfax Township, passed away on June 16, 2017 at Huron Medical Center. Donald was born in Bad Axe on January 29, 1949 to the late Floyd and Frances (Haley) Stroud. On May 26, 1973, he married the love of his life, Debra L. Walker at the Bad Axe Church of the Nazarene. Don was pastor at the Filion Church of the Nazarene for the last twenty-four years. He was treasurer for the Nazarene Thumb Zone Fellowship Committee. When he was younger, he farmed and worked for Larry Weiderhold as a truck mechanic and repair man. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and tending to his farm animals.
