Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-9pm. The funeral service will be Friday, August 29, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing. He is survived by his wife, Alice; children: Deborah Wissner (Douglas Fidler) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Cindy (Terry) Volz, of Sebewaing, and Dawn (Frank) Hartman of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: Ben (Molly) Fidler, Joe Fidler, Michael (his wife and children), Matthew (Leah) Volz, Jacob (Jackie) Nolan, Mandi (Ryan) Luft, Andrew Nolan, and Katie (Jeff) Hudecek; great grandchildren: Asher, soon to be baby boy, Abygail, Hayden, Charlie and Isabelle; siblings: Arleen Ross, Glen (Jean) Wissner, Nina Alexander, Gerald Wissner, Maxine (Vern) Winter and Patricia Sontag; sisters-in-law: Katie Wissner and Pat Wissner; and many nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Myrtle Wissner, and siblings: Esther Cochrane, Vernita McPhail, Milda Polley, Owen Wissner, Aldine Voss and Kenneth Wissner.

Biography

Donald was born January 26, 1929 in Brookfield Twp., MI. Son of the late Fred and Myrtle (Strauch) Wissner. He married Alice Neuman on August 16, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Kilmanagh and the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. He retired as a lifelong farmer in 1992. He loved spending time with his family.
