Funeral services will be at 11:00am Monday, September 25th at the Elkton Missionary Church with Pastor Reggie Courliss officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00am Monday in church until the service time. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Elkton Missionary Church. She is survived by her four sons: Mark (Kathi) of Caseville, Michael (Amy) of Vancouver BC, John (Jacky) of Southfield and James (Dawn) of Concord; ten grandchildren Jessica (Nick), Daniel (Julliana), Hans (Michelle), Hannah, Jocelyn, Jennifer, Johnny, Joanna, Zachary and Bethany; three great-grandchildren Sadie, Lucy and Henry; and sister Lois Hunt of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her brothers Maxwell, Robert and Ronald Hunt; and sister Maxine Diebel.

Biography

Donna Jean Weidman, 89, of Jackson, formerly of Chandler Township, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Jackson after a short illness. Donna was born April 21, 1928 in Detroit to the late Maxwell and Mary Ann (Roth) Hunt. She graduated from Spring Arbor High School in 1946. She married Lester J. Weidman on June 14, 1952 in Detroit; he preceded her in death on January 2, 2016. In 1971 Donna and her husband moved from Detroit to Chandler Township where they farmed. She enjoyed being a farm wife, taking care of the gardens and visits with her ten grandchildren. Her artistic abilities were on display in her beautiful china painting. She was devoted to Elkton Missionary Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and children’s church leader.
