Doris Marie (White) Diehl, age 91, joined the Lord on August 13, 2016, with her husband, parents, brothers, family and friends in an eternal celebration! She was born to David and Josephine White on March 25, 1925 in Harbor Beach, Michigan. Growing up in Harbor Beach, she met her husband, Frederick Jacob Diehl. They were married March 8, 1943 and celebrated 51 years together and are now re-united for eternity. Doris was a very hard working woman, but did it with a joyful, loving attitude. She enjoyed caring for her husband, children and the many guests that came through our home; cooking, cleaning and seeing to everyone's comfort for hours every day. She was also very active within the Holy Family Church community. She taught catechism, served with the Women in the Women's Circle and parish council and prepared funeral dinners. While the youngest children were in grade school, she began a career cooking at area restaurants. She started that career at the Heidleberg restaurant in Sebewaing, then moved to the Lamplighter restaurant, the Unionville Bakery and finished her cooking career at age 84 while working at the Intermission Deli.
