A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11 am at St. Hubert Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 2 – 8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe or Friday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. The family would like to send a special thanks to A & D Hospice, especially Heather; also friends Pat and Stephanie for the loving care they gave to him. Doug is survived by his wife, Donna Glaza of Bad Axe; son, Eric (Nikki) Glaza of Bad Axe, and daughter, Ashley (Brett) Metzger of Ubly; his parents, Lawrence and Delores Glaza of Ubly; mother-in-law, Janet Volmering of Parisville; two brothers, Allan (Rachel) Glaza of Ubly and Todd (Brooke) Glaza of Colorado; two sisters, Cindy (Jeff) Rochefort of Bad Axe and Amy (Cory) Peruski of Ubly; and four grandchildren, Chase and Brooks Glaza of Bad Axe and Roselynn and Clay Metzger of Ubly. He was preceded in death by his Father-in-law Clifford Volmering.

Biography

Douglas S. Glaza, age 56, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Doug was born on September 13, 1965 in Bad Axe, son of Lawrence and Delores (Puvalowski) Glaza. He graduated from Ubly High School in 1983 and married Donna Volmering on September 28, 1985 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Parisville. Doug had a dedicated career as an employee at Dow AgroSciences (Corteva) for nearly 35 years. He was a devoted husband, son, and a loving father and grandfather. Doug enjoyed being on the golf course, in the woods, or at the campground spending time with family and friends. His biggest blessings in life were his grandchildren. He loved to spoil them with eating ice cream, watching their favorite TV shows, and going for golf cart rides.
