EUGENE BINKLE

Funeral Information

Funeral Services for Eugene will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 am at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation for Eugene will be Friday from 2-7pm in the funeral home. Visitation on Saturday will begin at 10 am until time of services at 11 am.

Family of the Deceased

He is survived by his sisters: Dorothy Skinner of Traverse City and Esther Binkle of Traverse City, 2 sisters-in-law Dorothy Binkle of Port Hope and Beada Currie of Birmingham, Adam Wood, special neighbor and friend, and many nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his siblings: Ralph Binkle, Gerald Binkle, Robert Binkle, Carl Binkle, Jack Binkle, Helen Sandman and Lois Bond.

Biography

He was born on August 28, 1916 in Harbor Beach to the late Albert and Martha (Abraham) Binkle. Eugene and Esther Scherer were united in marriage on October 22, 1939 in Harbor Beach. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1999. Eugene worked as a Lab Tech for Hercules in Harbor Beach for 41 years, retiring on June 30, 1977. He graduated from Harbor Beach High School from the Class of 1936, where he lettered in football. Eugene enjoyed watching the Harbor Beach High School Football Team throughout the years, cooking, gardening, bird watching, the Detroit Tigers and listening to his 911 scanner.
