The funeral service for Ed will be Friday, July 31 at 1:00 pm at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor of St. Isidore Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery in Ubly. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00-9:00 pm and Friday from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm. Ed is survived by his wife, Jennifer Monzo of Minden City; three children, Jaylynn, Jordon and Christian Monzo, all at home; one step-daughter, Mickayla Bischer of Ubly, his mother, Betty (Pete) Cabahit of CA; his father, Elwood (Vicki) Monzo of Port Huron; two brothers, Michael Monzo of Port Huron, his twin, Elwood (Angie) Monzo of Carsonville; one sister, Mitzi (Dan) Muma of Deckerville; half brothers and sisters, Richard Monzo of Port Huron, Robert (Angie) Monzo of Port Huron, Hattie Woodruf and her fiancé, Ben of Port Huron, Jackie (Dennis) Doyle of Bad Axe; Anna Monzo of Port Huron; father-in-law and mother-n-law, Tom (Sue) Gornowicz of Minden City; one sister-in-law, Kristy Gamer of Minden City; two brothers-in-law Stephen (Kathy) Gamer of Minden City, Shaun (Brittney) Gamer of Ubly; godson, Anthony Grifka; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; family friend, Allen Mike Pierson of Minden City. Ed was preceded in death by his half brother, Ryan Monzo, his father-in-law, Michael Gamer; twin uncles, Benson and Bernie Denney.
Edward “Ed” Russell Monzo, 41 of Minden City, passed away early Sunday morning, July 26, 2015 in Ubly due to an automobile accident. Ed was born on December 2, 1973 in Port Huron to Elwood Monzo and Betty Jo Denney. He married Jennifer Gamer on August 22, 1998 in Sandusky. Ed was a good friend to many. His passions in life were playing on area pool and dart leagues and Demolition derbies. He always ran his demo cars fast and on full throttle. He loved pizza and would gladly have eaten it every day. Ed also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, cards, and his guitar, mud bogging and Bump-n-Run Racing.
