Funeral Mass for Eleanor Antoszewski will be on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 11:00 am in St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Visitation: Monday from 2-8 pm at the Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde, with a rosary being conducted by the Holy Rosary Sodality on Monday at 4:00 pm. Visitation on Tuesday will be at the Church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Memorials to the Port Austin Historical Society or Port Austin Library would be appreciated.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Marylana (C. Reed) Duckworth and Henry D. Antoszewski, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and her Pennsylvania nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by many family members and dear friends.

Biography

Eleanor Antoszewski , 96 died at Huron County Medical Care Facility on Friday, February 8, 2013 She was born on February 8, 1917, in Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania the daughter of George and Mary Jane (McDine) Watson. Eleanor came to work for a family in Pt. Aux Barques Michigan where she met Henry “Hank” Antoszewski. They were married September 12, 1938 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1982. Eleanor “Mrs. A.” was a cook in the Port Austin School and North Huron Middle School for 37 years. She dearly loved all the children who worked in the kitchen and went through the lunch line. She often said: “They keep me young and on my toes.” Eleanor retired in 2002 when North Huron Middle School moved to the main campus in Kinde. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Holy Rosary Sodality and the American Legion, Frank Horetski Post 499 Ladies Auxiliary.
