Services will be held Friday August 28, 2015 at 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Hope. Officiating will be Rev. Henry Hales, pastor. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Thursday form 2 – 8 pm. or Friday at the church from 10 am. until the service time at 11 am. Von Maxwell of Pt. Austin. Chenoa (Dan) Brown of Bad Axe. Samantha (Junior) Morris of Port Austin. 4 step-grandchilren-Mike (Jennifer) Viers of Port Austin. Amy (Darren) Smithers of Bad Axe. Issac (Stacey) Viers of Port Austin. Curtis (Leighann) Viers of Alpena. 14 great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by: 3 brothers-James Fuhrman, Levitte Long and Gustave Furman. 1 grandson-Martin Kuhn. 1 son-in-law-William Kuhn of Kinde

Biography

Elizabeth Ruth Maxwell, 89, of Bad Axe, formerly of Port Hope, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born on September 9, 1925 in Port Hope, daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Wurdleman) Fuhrman. She married Earl Maxwell in Port Hope on June 8, 1946. He preceded her in death in August of 1986. Elizabeth’s faith was very important to her. She also enjoyed rooting for the Detroit Tigers, bird watching, flowers and cooking. She especially liked visiting with friends and relatives.
