Funeral Information

Funeral services for Ervin will be 11 am Saturday, December 10th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. William Cleland officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, December 9th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe from 2 – 5 pm and from 7 – 9 pm. There will also be visitation on Saturday, 10 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the JDRF Diabetes Foundation or to the Huron County Medical Care Facility Activities Department. Condolences can be shared at www.macalpinefunerahome.com

Family of the Deceased

Ervin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Muter of Bad Axe; son, Donald Muter of Bad Axe; daughter, Bonnie McKee of Gagetown; grandchildren: Earl (Becky) McKee of Cass City, and Mary Ellen McKee (fiancé, Matt Rozek) of Rochester; great grandchildren: Kylie, Brianna, Alexa and Ayden; several step grandchildren; sisters: Inez (Jim) Frye of Kewadin, and Tracy (Ken) Friedland of Mt. Clemens and a sister in law, Joann Muter of Port Hope. He was preceded in death by his step father: Clarence Heilig; sons: Richard and Larry Muter; daughter: Michelle Muter; son in law: Mac McKee; brothers, John and Fred Muter; sister in law, Beverly “Mitzie” Muter, niece, Julie Hartz and his father and mother in law, Emil & Clara Woodke.

Biography

Ervin R. Muter, 83, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016 at Huron County Medical Care Facility under Compassus Hospice care. He was born in Port Hope on June 1, 1933 to the late Robert and Helen (Weiss) Muter. On July 9, 1955, he married Shirley M. Woodke. In his younger years, he was a square dance caller and a very good dancer. He retired from Carmet Company.
