A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 am at St. Isadore Parish-St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Parisville. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Ubly. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. Arrangements by the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Eugene is survived by: One son - Dan Briolat of Minden City. One daughter – Doreen Toby of Phoenix, AZ. One Grandson – Ted Glaza of Washington. Two brothers – Marshall (Cathy) Briolat, Jr. of Swartz Creek and Harold (Ranea) Briolat of Clio.. Four sisters – Delphine (Jim) Peruski of Deckerville, Christine (Richard) Peruski of Ubly, Glorie (Mike) McCarty of Ubly and Jean (Kevin) Anthony of Ubly. He was preceded in death by: Two brothers – Marcus Briolat and Melvin Briolat. One sister – Jeanette Peruski. One brother-in-law – Jack Peruski.

Biography

Eugene C. Briolat, age 84, of Minden City, passed away on August 5, 2018 at Courtney Manor Nursing Facility in Bad Axe. Eugene was born on December 25, 1933, in Paris Township, son of the late Marshall and Rose (Ulfig) Briolat Sr. He married Geraldine Grifka on July 13, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. Geraldine preceded him in death on May 8, 2016. Eugene was a longtime Paris Township farmer. In his younger years, he worked construction and sold seeds for Northrup King. Eugene lived a long and happy life and only succumbed to ill health during his final years. He was a hard-working man who never met a stranger and he could never resist the opportunity to have a laugh with friends.
