Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Thursday, September 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Ubly. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Wednesday from 2-9 pm and Thursday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a rosary Wednesday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Christian Haven Assisted Living.
Evans is survived by four sons, Lawrence and his wife, Diana of Clinton, Michael and his wife, Lucy of Grand Haven, Patrick and his wife, Lucy, of Plymouth, MN, James of Grand Rapids; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren,, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one sister, Vera Richards and one brother, Ward Quigg.
Mr. Quigg was born on August 16, 1915 in Carsonville, son of the late James and Lena (Klohn) Quigg. He married Eunice Osentoski on April 22, 1940 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2001. Evans was a graduate of Sandusky High School and was a lifelong resident of the Thumb area. He worked for Hudson Motor and Active Industries. Evans was a Proud Army Veteran of WWII. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and hunting pheasant. Evans was a Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed all Detroit sports.
