Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will take place 11 am on Monday, August 29th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville with Fr. Todd Arnberg officiating. Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm on Sunday, August 28th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home with a rosary service at 4 pm and from 10 – 11 am on Monday, August 29th at the church. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Marlette Hospital and United Hospice in Marlette for taking such wonderful care of Rosie. Rosie is survived by her daughters: Jean Jaskoski of Medina, Ohio; Carol (Richard) Jackson of Waterford, Michigan and Beverly (Daniel) Vargo of Salt Lake City, Utah; her grandchildren: Kristen Miller, Jeff Miller, Tom Jackson and Dave Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son in law, Doug Miller; her sisters, Lucy Smalley, Mary (Mayme) Roggenbuck, and Bertha Dropeski; her step sister, Josephine Peruski; brothers, John Peruski, Sylvester Peruski and Dan Peruski and her step brothers, Adam Peruski, and Cass Peruski.

Biography

Florence Rose Jaskoski, 91, of Minden Township, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2016 while under United Hospice Care in Marlette. She was born in Ubly, Michigan to the late John and Josephine (Ertman) Peruski on January 26, 1925. On October 2, 1946, she married Irvin Jaskoski. He preceded her in death in 2013 after 67 years of marriage. Rosie, as she was known, was a member of St. Mary Church/ St. Isidore Parish in Parisville and part of the Rosary Sodality. She was a true “Rosie the Riveter” having worked on airplane wings at Briggs Manufacturing in Detroit during World War II. She was an inspiration to all who knew her for her immense kindness, generosity and independence. Rosie enjoyed needlework, gardening and tending to her trees.
