Florence is survived by her husband, Allen; children: Kim (Lou) Rabedeau of Milford,MI; Kari (Steve) Brewer of Oscoda, Richard (Lynette) Witherspoon of Cass City, MI; grandchildren: Jessica (Joel) Foreman, Jonathon Rabedeau, Leishia Witherspoon, Alan Brewer, Joshua Brewer, Kera-ann Brewer, Aubrei Witherspoon, Kaitlin Witherspoon, Brandon Witherspoon; great grandchildren: Evelina, Alazay; sisters: Dorothy (Larry) Sweeney of Ubly,MI; Elaine (Derek) Romain of Cass City; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Alan Witherspoon.

Biography

Florence A. Witherspoon, 77, of Cass City, MI, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 in her home with her family by her side. She was born June 29, 1937 in Pleasant Home hospital in Cass City to Kenneth Charles and Evelyn Alice (Doerr) Butler. She married Allen Alfred Witherspoon March 22, 1958 in the EUB church in Cass City. Florence worked for Walbro Manufacturing for a short time then for General Cable as an Assistant Personnel Director retiring after 35 years of service. Florence loved to bowl and was even a State Champion! She and Allen traveled visiting nearly every state in the U.S. and spent many winters in Florida. She loved her trips with the grandchildren. Florence was a former Lioness member and a member of the Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary. She enjoyed many different crafts including knitting and pottery. Florence enjoyed reading especially Romance novels. She enjoyed playing cards particularly Pinochle, Sequence and Five Crown. Florence loved spending time at Peach Lake in West Branch and at their hunting lodge in Curran. She enjoyed taking pictures and chronicled the building of the lodge in Curran.
