Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 2 – 8 p.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home, Bad Axe and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Bad Axe First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Barsaleau officiating. Burial will be at Colfax Township Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund or the Bad Axe First Baptist Church Roofing Fund. Condolences may be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; three sons, Rick (Barbara) Rifenbark , Gary (Cathy) Rifenbark and Jeff (Lori) Rifenbark of Bad Axe; five grandchildren, Jesse (Julie) Rifenbark of Panama City, FL, Alan, Adam and Aaron Rifenbark of Bad Axe and Melinda (Ryan) McNeill of Warren, MI; six great-grandchildren, Katie, Calvin, Kiera, Ashlyn, Caleb and Garrett; one brother, Ralph (Helen) Rifenbark of Bad Axe.

Biography

Frank Rifenbark, 82, lifelong resident of Bad Axe, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, Bay City. He was born August 8, 1930 in Midland, MI to the late Henry and Nellie (Hubbard) Rifenbark. He was united in marriage to Joanne Allen on December 25, 1951 in Saginaw and shortly after was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Frank graduated from Bad Axe High School, Class of 1949. He was employed by the Fairmont Food Company in Bad Axe for 22 years and a custodian for the Bad Axe Schools for many years. He was a member of the Bad Axe First Baptist Church. Frank enjoyed little league coaching, watching all types of sports, repairing lawn mowers, going out to eat and specially watching the grandchildren play sports. He was a loyal University of Michigan and Detroit Tiger fan.
