Funeral Information

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Rev. Fr. Robert Pare, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Assn. or St. Felix Cemetery Fund and words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.

Surviving are her siblings, Mary Agnes Klemmer of Bad Axe, James (Hazel) Yax of Caro, Betty Jean McGeachy of Dearborn, Annabel Stolicker of Caseville of Gerald(Marion) Yax of Kinde. Laurence (Patricia) Yax of Taylor of Richard(Linda)Yax of Canton, Duane Yax of Romulus and Sandra (Ed) Klee of Hoffman Estates, Ill; sister-in-law, JoAnn Reilly and Deenie Reilly of Warren; many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death was an infant son, Ronald Reilly; her husband, Francis Reilly; two sisters, Lucy Ruth and Marguerite Herriman; brothers-in-law, Earl Klemmer, Grant Herriman, Francis Ruth, Alex McGeachy, John Langley, Joseph Reilly, Robert Reilly and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Yax.

Biography

She was born January 21, 1929, in Lake Twp. at the home of her parents the late James and Mary (Stirrett) Yax. Gladys started waiting tables at Snyder’s Dairy Bar in Bad Axe at age 17 and moved to the Detroit area in late forties. On November 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Francis M. Reilly at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warren. In 1960, she took a position at the General Motors Tech Center, retiring in 1987. She moved back to Huron County shortly after her husband passed away on March 4, 1989. She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog and a past member of the Caseville Eagle Auxiliary. Gladys enjoyed working in her yard and garden, and playing the piano.
