Funeral Information

Funeral service for Holly will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Tousley officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Colfax Township Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who helped during this difficult time, especially Jennifer Holland. Holly is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Patrick Lerash of Bad Axe; her daughter, Morgan Drossos and her husband, Joseph of Farmington Hills; her son, Alexander Lerash and his partner, Kaitlind Pineau of Bad Axe; step-children: Amy Evans and her husband, James of Seattle, Washington and Franklin Lerash of Fort Worth, Texas; her grandchildren: Nolan, Gordon and Cooper Drossos, Maxton Lerash and Dominick Pineau; her brother, Mark McCracken of Caro; brother-in-law, Paul Lerash and his wife, Cathy, of Bad Axe; sisters-in-law, Lora Lerash and her husband, Richard of East China, Michigan and Susan Howell and her husband, Bruce, of Kalamazoo; nephews: Ryan McCracken and his wife, Kelly, and Jonathan McCracken and his wife, April; and nieces Megan McCracken, Tricia Vanderploeg and her husband, Bill, Cheryl Alassane and Amber Kleekamp and her husband, Michael.

Biography

Holly Sue (McCracken) Lerash, 66, of Colfax Township, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 22, 2017 at her home under Heartland Hospice care after a short battle with cancer. Holly was born in Pigeon, Michigan on December 5, 1950. Her parents are the late Ford and Betty (Nicholls) McCracken of Bad Axe. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1969 where she was voted class clown. She had a love for horses and for dancing. Holly attended Central Michigan University for a year before settling back in Bad Axe. On March 12, 1983, she married Patrick F. Lerash. When Holly wasn’t busy working at the Franklin Inn, she was a member of the Wednesday Morning Women’s League at Caseville Golf Club. Her favorite golf player was Phil “Lefty” Mickelson. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, traveling, playing Keno, laughing with friends, spending time with her grandchildren and cuddling her cats. Holly was a joy as a friend, aunt, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed dearly.
