Funeral Information

Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach with Fr. Thomas McNamara, Pastor officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady of Lake Huron cemetery. A Rosary prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, MI. Visitation will be at Ramsey Funeral Home on Friday March 8, 2013, 1 pm to 9 pm and Saturday 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Research or Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, or the charity of donor’s choice.

James is survived by his 9 children: Suzanne Mann (Gary) of Saginaw; Joan Stevens (Jeff) of Midland; Brian Booms (Carolyn) of Canton; Colleen deBeauclair (Randy) of Pinckney; Dean Booms ( Jackie) of Freeland; Lynette Adamo (Jeff) of Saginaw; Kathleen Scott ( Mark) of Shelby Township; Fred Booms (Lynn )of Freeland and Lisa Liening (Matt) of Washington, IL. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Jason, Michele, Matthew, Andrew, Kara, Maria, Justine, Elyse, Adam, Derek, Tyler, Brenden, Luke, Clayton, Grace, Nathan, Zachary and Tommy. He is also survived by four brothers: Robert Booms, Gene Booms (Emily), all of Harbor Beach; Albert Booms of Georgia; Warren Booms (Anna) of Saginaw and a brother in law Raymond Mazure of Harbor Beach. Four sisters: Marilyn Essenmacher, Charlotte Talaski, Matilda Messing (Dan), all of Harbor Beach; Ramona Bell of Texas; and a sister in law Delphine Booms of Harbor Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise; son Bruce; grandson Jason Booms; brothers Kenneth and Stephen; sisters Judy, Barbara, and Clarice.

Biography

James Ronald Booms, 81 of Harbor Beach, MI died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, MI after a brief illness. He was born July 13, 1931 in Harbor Beach, MI to the late Clarence and Laura (Scholtz) Booms. He and Mary Louise Sweeney were married June 29, 1957 in St Columbkille Catholic Church near Ubly. He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, MI.
