Funeral Information

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe with Fr. Robert Howe officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday with scripture services at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus at 7:30 p.m. at the MacAlpine “Mac Chapel” in Bad Axe. Memorials may be offered to the Huron County Hockey Association or the Family Discretionary Fund. Condolences may be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com.

He is survived by two sons, Brad Miller of Bradenton, Florida and Scott Miller of Bad Axe; the mother of Scott, Cindy Miller; a brother, Arthur (Geraldine) Miller of Filion and a sister, Magdelin Goretski of Filion. He was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Richard (Mary Jane) Miller and a brother in-law, Harry Goretski.

Biography

James “Jim” Ronald Miller, 61, resident of Bad Axe, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born January 24, 1952 in Bad Axe to the late Basil and Lucy (Briolat) Miller. Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bad Axe Council 1546. He graduated from North Huron High School, Class of 1970 and attended McComb Community College. Jim was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 555. He enjoyed playing short stop position for the Rapson and Cash Cook softball teams. He had numerous hobbies including hunting, watching the Detroit Red Wings, attending antique car shows, camping, and gardening.
