Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday December 8, 2019 at Countryside Christian Church in Yale, 9985 Yale Road, Yale, MI 48097. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Memorials may be given to the wishes of the family or the American Cancer Society. He is survived by his 3 children: Courtney (Glenn) Deer, Mandy (Brett) Bowman and Branden Rourke, 6 grandchildren: Jacob, Colton and Dakota Deer, Blake and Makaylee Bowman and Brooklynn Rourke, a sister Sharon (Ray) McClellan, brother-in-law: James (Laurie) Moody and sister-in-law Diane Pagel, nephews: Andrew (Kristine) McClellan, Gordon and Douglas Moody, Adam and John Pagel, and niece Rachel (Rick) Elliott. James was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law: Burnell and Marjorie Moody and brother-in-law John Pagel.

Biography

James H. Rourke, age 65 of Yale, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Lakeview Extended Care and Rehab Center of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital after a battle with cancer. James was born December 18, 1953 in Yale to Ralph and Marilyn (Jenkins) Rourke. He obtained his GED from Sandusky High School in 1979. He married Susan Moody, April 16, 1988 in Yale. Sue preceded him in death on October 7, 2004. James worked at Yale Rubber for 47 years retiring in December of 2018. He loved to golf, fish, bowl, wood work and spending time with family and friends.
