A memorial service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 25th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. A gathering will be 5 – 8 pm on Monday, August 24th at the MacAlpine Funeral Home and Tuesday, August 25th 10 am until time of service at the church. Please remember Jim and the positive things you experienced with him. They broke the mold with him 67 years ago. Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe Area District Library. James is survived by his brother Paul (Constance) Woodworth of Wilmington, North Carolina; niece Kathryn Woodworth (great nephews Dustyn Sellars and Jayden Foster); nephew Geoffrey (Suzanne) Woodworth; aunt Adeline Woodworth Ravel; cousins Robert Woodworth, Timothy Woodworth, Tami Woodworth Salens and Carolan Woodworth O’Keefe; his office administrator for many years, Margaret Callender and his beloved dog, Rudi.

Biography

James Nelson Woodworth, 67, of Bad Axe, passed away on August 18, 2015 at his home. He was born in Bad Axe to the late Philip and Florence (Russ) Woodworth on September 3, 1947. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Hubert Parish, member of the Huron County Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, was an officer for many years on the MSU Alumni Club of Huron County, on the committee for the Lawyers and Judges Alliance, past president of Verona Hills Golf Club and was a friend of Bill. Jim was an avid reader, loved playing golf, a MSU sports fan with an awesome inquisitive mind. He tested the boundaries of life, exploring some of the most interesting aspects. Jim was opinionated, boisterous and fun loving. Jim loved exotic food but mainly sushi. He would drive to Detroit, buy an $80 platter of sushi and drive back consuming it all. The chefs would marvel at his choices and comment “You the Man”!
