Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Janet is survived by her children: Debra Ann (Juan) Medrano of San Antonio, TX, Donna Jean (Richard) Hartwick of Cass City, William Howard (Linda) Francis of San Antonio, TX, Denise Rachel (David) Janssen of Cass City; daughter-in-law, Deborah Francis of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren: Rachel Medrano, Heidi (Randy) Smith, Kyle Hartwick, Tiffany Francis, Chad (Crystal) Francis, David Janssen Jr., Renae Janssen, Angie Janssen; great grandchildren: Veronica, Curt Jr., Spencer, Addison, Olyviya; great great grandson, Aidin; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Fred R. Francis; grandsons: Ryan W. Hartwick, Jason Medrano, Curt Medrano; great granddaughter, Alexis "Lexi" Smith; brothers: Franklin Wright, Clarence Wright, Roland Wright, Harry Wright; sister, Madeline Wright.

Biography

Janet I. Francis, 78, of Cass City died following a short illness Friday, April 19, 2013 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw. She was born January 11, 1935 in Cass City to Fred and Rachel (Hendrick) Wright. She married Elmer H. Francis June 25, 1955 in Cass City First Presbyterian Church. He died March 24, 2011. Janet was a homemaker and secretary for her husband's building business for many decades. She was an active member and willing volunteer in many local organizations. Janet was a past President in Hills & Dales Hospital Auxiliary and Zonta International. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post #3644, the Cass City United Methodist Church and Women's Society, the birthday club, Tom Thumb Singers and her church choir. Janet and Elmer were foster parents for 8 years and welcomed over 70 children in their home. Janet was proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed reading and collecting angels. Janet was a friend to many. When asked how she was doing, her response was always the same, "fat and sassy". Janet loved spending time with her
