Funeral Information

A small intimate visitation for his family and close friends, will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Cremation will follow. Jason is survived by his daughter, Leileeana; his mother, Cindy (David) Ferris of Elkton; his father, Keith Smukala of Filion; his sister, Stacey Smukala and her husband, William Chubb Jr., of Saginaw; step brothers: Shane Ferris of Caro and Leonard (Lynn) Ferris of Sebewaing; step sister, Davi Jo “DJ” Ferris of Caseville; his nieces and nephews: Kamdyn, Kylie, Brenden, Henry and Nolan; grandmother, Elma Smith; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carolyn and Melvin Smukala, Henry Smith, and Marjorie Ferris; his aunt, Laura Smith and his uncles, Daniel Smukala and Terrance Bucholtz.

Biography

Jason T. Smukala, 33, of Elkton, passed away on July 24, 2017. He was born in Bad Axe on May 31, 1984. His parents are Keith Smukala and Cindy (Smith) Ferris. Jason was blessed into the Community of Christ Church in Owendale, Michigan. He loved working on cars, adored children and spending time with his family and friends. Jason’s smile and laugh could light up a dark room.
