Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 2, 2013 at the Evangel Life Assembly of God of Bad Axe with pastor Darryl Harless officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery. Friends may call at Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe Thursday 1-8 pm and 10-11 am until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Church of your choice, Alzheimer Associate, Food Pantry, or any other charitable donation of your choice.

Family of the Deceased

Jean is survived by her husband Jack of 59 years, two daughters Cindy (Mac) McBride of Bad Axe, Lori (Kevin) Trepkowski of Ubly, two sons Jerry (Donna) Rochefort of Port Austin, and Jeff (Cindy) Rochefort of Bad Axe. Grandchildren Andrea (Aaron) Meinhold, Rebecca McBride, Megan McBride, Melissa (Josh) Herman, Jill (Jeff) Miller, Jeff (Tina) Rochefort, Zac (Katie) Eskau, Rob Eskau, Michael Eskau, Garrett (Faith) Jurges, Jackie Rochefort, Samantha Rochefort, Amanda Gentner, Garrett Gentner, and Hunter Rochefort. Great Children Haley, Jack, Ethan, Jacob, Katelyn, Griffin and Joel, three sisters Allene Walker, Pat (Art) Ortega, Janet Rotger, one brother Clark (Veniece) Shuart, sister-in-laws Janie Shuart, Carol Klawinski, brother-in-law Don Rochefort, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded her in death are her parents, brother Jim Shuart, sister-in-laws Florence Rochefort McDowell, brother-in-laws Bill Walker, Joe Rotger, and Lyle Rochefort.

Biography

Jean E Rochefort, 79 of Bad Axe passed away Tuesday July 30th at St Mary's hospital. Jean was born on June 5, 1934 in Bad Axe, Mi to the late Graydon and Naomi (Ewald) Shuart. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1952. Jean married Jack Rochefort on September 19, 1953. In 1972 Jack and Jean purchased Thumb Tool and Engineering where she worked for 25 years as office manager until retirement. Jean was an avid walker...3 to 5 miles per day and an active member of the Sandusky Chapter of TOPS. She also enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, and being with her family.
