The funeral service for Jean will be 11:00 am Friday, October 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Forestville. Pastor Henry Hales will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City on Thursday from 3:30-7:00 pm and Friday from 10:00-10:45 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Jean is survived by 5 children, JoAnn (Steven) Kramer of Deckerville, Dwight (Cindy) Volz of North Branch, Gerry (Linda) Volz of Fairview, Chuck (Linda) Volz of Comins, Melvin (Tracy) Volz of Reese; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; one brother-in-law, Dale (Esther) Volz, one sister-in-law, Rachel Klaus; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and her husband, Eleanor (Dick) Keber; one brother, Glenn Klaus; one brother-in-law, Glen Volz; one infant grandson, Kyle Volz.

Biography

Mrs. Jean Dorothy Volz of Ubly, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 24, 1924 to the late Charles and Hertha (Goetze) Klaus and lived in the Charleston and Minden City area all of her life. She married Frederick Lewis Volz on September 7, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. They shared 72 loving years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 30, 2019. Jean graduated from Minden City High School. She loved traveling with her husband to all areas of the country. She cherished spending time with her family, loved to go camping with her grandchildren and spent a lot of time quilting and sewing.
