A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Fr. Rob Howe, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Wednesday from 1-8pm. or Thursday at the church from 10am until the service time at 11am. A scripture service will be offered on Wednesday at 7:30pm at the funeral home.

Surviving is her husband, Dennis Bushey; 1 daughter Kristi Krug of Cass City; 1 son Michael Bushey and his fiancee Charity Maikrzek of Bad Axe; Mother Joyce Casey of Kinde; 4 grandchildren Ben & Luke Krug of Cass City and Jordan & Cooper Bushey of Bad Axe. 2 brothers Daniel (Sue) Casey of Virginia; Patrick (Sue) Casey of Gaylord; 5 sisters Maureen (Bill) Fealko of Caro, Jeanne (Tony) Krinkie of Bad Axe, Kathy (Dave) Koroleski of Kinde, Laurie (Dave) Matthews of Bad Axe, Lisa (Chris) Shepherd of Harbor Beach. 1 sister in law Dorthy Casey of Caro; 1 brother in law Gerald Smaglinski of Shelbyville, TN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father James Casey; 1 sister Barb Smaglinski; 1 brother James Casey.


Joan Bushey, age 58 of Bad Axe, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1954 in Bad Axe, the daughter of James and Joyce (Allan) Casey. She married Dennis Bushey on June 16, 1973 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Joan had retired as a clerk at the Huron County Clerk's office. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. She enjoyed camping, watching the Detroit Tigers, and expecially spending time with her loving family and many friends.
