A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11am, at the Caseville United Methodist Church in Caseville, MI. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10am, until the service time at 11am. Memorials may be offered to the Joanne Pietscher Scholarship Fund for speech and drama students. Arrangements by the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe.

Biography

Joanne Kay Pietscher, age 84, of Caseville, MI - formerly of Bad Axe, MI; passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. She was born on November 19, 1928 in Saginaw, MI, daughter of the late Paul & Hazel (Bowen) Olmsted. She married Keith William Pietscher on April 12, 1952 in the Saginaw Second Presbyterian Church. They had been married for 60 years. Joanne was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw and received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Central Michigan University. She was a teacher for 30 years, mainly at Bad Axe High School, focusing on Speech and English. She also served as the director for the debate team. She was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and attending, directing, and acting in theater productions.
