A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Rev. Fr. Robert Pare, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help will officiate with burial in St Felix Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Sunday, with a parish scripture service at 5:00 PM at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.
Surviving are four children, Sue (Mark) Cook of Holt, Thomas (Traci) Pechette of Kinde, Joyce Pechette of San Diego, CA and Jon Pechette of Grand Blanc; a special friend, Barbara Binder of Port Austin; his grandchildren, Paul Cook, Samantha (Roland) Nickoli, Nicole Cook, Alexander, Adam, Andrew, Jared and Emilie Pechette; sister, Jean (Jim) Casey of Port Austin and sister-in-law, Mavis Pechette of Caseville. Preceding him in death were siblings, Mary Weber, Helen McCormick, Theresa Betteridge Yaroch and Frank Pechette.
John C Pechette age 83 of Pinnebog died Wednesday evening, November 18, at Huron Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1931 in Chandler Twp at the home of his parents, the late Louis and Catherine (Stephens) Pechette. John grew up on the family farm and was a 1949 graduate of Elkton High School. After high school, went to Michigan State. On November 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mildred Dolinski at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Detroit. They moved to a farm near Pinnebog the following year. Mildred preceded him in death on June 21, 2006. John was a lifelong member of St Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. He was passionate sports fan and enjoyed playing all sports, during his freshman year; he played football for Michigan State. He loved to watch the Detroit Lions and Tigers, Spartans, for that matter, any game that was televised. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and traveling. His competitive nature/spirt was disguised by his calm demeanor. His true passion was his family, especially his grandchildren.
