Friends may gather at church beginning an hour before the service. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Joanne; children Nancy (Todd) Arndt of Kalamazoo, Janet Sturm of Mt. Pleasant and David (Jill) Sturm of Fenton; grandchildren Andrew, Austin, Olivia, Gabriella, Francesca, Vien, Henri and Ellyse; siblings Wayne Sturm of Pigeon, Lorraine (Jack) Perry of Pigeon and Dale (Judy) Sturm of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his sister Delores Sturm.

Biography

Keith R. Sturm, 85, of Pigeon, died peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at home with his family beside him. Keith was born in Bad Axe on October 22, 1932, son of the late H. Alfred and P. Alice Decker of Pigeon. In 1951 he graduated from Pigeon High School and then completed a short course at Michigan State College. He married Joanne Dowling on July 15, 1961 in Unionville. Keith retired as a dairy and crop farmer, working in partnership with his brother Wayne. He was active in his community in many capacities. He served as president of the Huron County Farm Bureau and was on the board of the Farm Credit Services. He was a member of the Pigeon Rotary Club and served as president. He was chairman of the McKinley Township Zoning Board and a volunteer for the Huron County Triad. He was a faithful member of the Pigeon First United Methodist Church.
