Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, March 6 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Catholic cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 1:30-9:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 -11:00 am at St. Joseph Church. Kevin is survived by his children, Chenese Hodges of Sandusky, Derrick Grifka of Applegate, Zachary Grifka of Argyle, Aerianne of Brown City, Jared Grifka; parents, Richard and Beverly Grifka of Ubly, three brothers, Darrin and his wife, Tammy of Peck, Brian and his wife, Wanda of Peck, Jason and his wife, Sharron of Port Austin; special friend, LeAnn James of Argyle; his godfather, Joseph Grifka of New Baltimore; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; one great great nephew and one great great niece. He was preceded by his godmother, Bernice Grifka, paternal grandparents, Enoch and Selma Grifka, maternal grandparents, Anthony and Florence Darr, two aunts, Carol Janowiak and Beatrice Ross, one uncle, Elmer Grifka.
Kevin A. Grifka, “Frog”, 41, lifelong resident of Argyle, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Kevin was born on February 18, 1972 in Cass City to Richard and Beverly (Darr) Grifka. Kevin was a 1990 graduate of Ubly High School. He attended Northwestern College in Ohio. He previously worked for Dale Rich Masonry and Paul Walsh Construction. He was employed at Triple J Farms for the last ten years. Kevin loved four wheelers and dirt bikes. He enjoyed hunting and cooking and smoking meat. He truly loved his two dogs, Sassy and Ranger. He was very excited to become a grandfather of two.
