Funeral service for Lauretta L. Hallitt, will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe, MI. She will be laid to rest at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe, MI and also on Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of service. She is survived by one daughter: Erma Bills and her husband, Glen; two sons: Charles Hallitt and his friend, Faye, and Earl Hallitt and his friend, Carol; two grandsons: Rodney Bills and Rick Bills; two sisters-in-law, Marie White and Rose Hallitt; one brother-in-law, Ken White and several nieces and nephews. Lauretta was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Hallitt; her infant daughter, Doris Jean Hallitt; her son, William J. Hallitt; three brothers: Fred Dahlke, Herbert Dahlke, and Reinold Nickel; one sister, Ruth Kautz; three brothers-in-law: Elmer Hallitt, Roy Hallitt and Stephan Frank; three sisters-in-law, Irene Hallitt, Elizabeth (Jane) Frank, and Beatrice Dahlke.

Biography

Lauretta L. Hallitt, 91, of Colfax Township, MI passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017 at Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was born August 29, 1925 in Harbor Beach to the late Fredrick and Laura (Becking) Dahlke. Lauretta married Clayton Hallitt on September 7, 1946. Lauretta was a home maker, she enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, sewing, playing Bingo and visiting with family and friends.
