Funeral Information

Funeral Mass for Larry will be Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday will be from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Wednesday at 7 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his children: LaJuana Van Horn and her husband Larry of Lapeer, Debra, Vahovick and her husband Dennis of Palmetto, Florida, Gary Kranz and his wife Laura of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Glen Kranz and his wife Jackie of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, Gerald Kranz and his wife Rhonda of Cypress, California, Coleen Gentner and her husband Mark of Minden City, Gregg Kranz and his friend Tracy Robinson of Bad Axe, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. His brothers: Wilfred and Melvin Kranz, and twin sister Lorraine Holdwick of Ruth. Larry was preceded in death by a grandchild Dennis J. Vahovick.

Biography

LAWRENCE KRANZ, age 84 of Harbor Beach, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe. He was born on November 2, 1931 in Harbor Beach to the late William and Anna (Klug) Kranz. He and Dolores Emming were united in marriage on June 14, 21952 in Ruth. She preceded him in death in April of 1989. Larry worked at Active Automotive for 22.5 years, retiring in 1987, he also worked on the family farm. He enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling, playing cards, fishing, trips to Florida for 27 years, and his family.
