Funeral services for Jack will be Monday January 22nd, 2018 at the Mac Chapel in Bad Axe at 12:00 noon with Rev. Philip Tousley officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-12:00 on Monday. Burial will be in Colfax cemetary.
Jack is survived by his daughter Ruth Ann of Bad Axe, and his sister in law Dorothy Braden and several nieces and nephews.
Leonard John ( Jack) Etzler passed away on Friday January 19th at Huron Medical Center at the age of 97. He was born on February 19th, 1920 to his late parents Frederick and Louise Miller Etzler, at his Grandparent's home in Elkton. His Mother passed away when he was a young boy, and he was raised by Thelma (Schwalm) Etzler. She has preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Bad Axe High School. He married Virginia( Braden ) on January 26th, 1944 and they were married for 56 years until her passing in 2001. He and his father Frederick owned and operated Thumb Bottling and Huron Pride Ice Cream, until they sold to Fairmont Foods. He continued to work for them until the company left Bad Axe. Jack drove truck for Braden Oil Company until his retirement. Jack's favorite hobby was watching harness racing and being an active spectator. He always attended the yearly races in Lexington Kentucky. Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bad Axe.
