Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church in Forestville. Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Ruth in the spring. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave in Minden City on Tuesday from 1:30-9:00pm and from 10:00-11:00 am at St. John Church only. Memorials are requested to St. Jude’s Shrine. Lillian is survived by one daughter, Alice Strawska and her husband, Dallas of Madison Heights, two sons, William Hunsanger and his wife, Joan of Shelby Township, Jerome Hunsanger Jr. and Kathy Piper of Spokane, Wash.; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Warczinsky of Port Huron. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dolores Hunsanger and Ruth Rolls; two grandsons, Mark Hunsanger and James Hunsanger, six sisters, Evelyn Waelde, Pearl Wishman, Amelia Russell, Martha Armenlia, Helen Spresser and Alice Wilson.

Biography

Lillian Hunsanger, 100 of Madison Hts, formerly of Forestville and Harbor Beach, died Jan. 26, 2013 at The Arbor Inn Assisted Living Facility in Warren. Lillian was born on July 20, 1912 in Ruth to the late Frank and Edna (Richardson) Thompson. She married Jerome J. Hunsanger on February 13, 1931 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1996. Lillian attended the Kelly Country School. She resided in Madison Heights from 1932 until moving to Forestville in 1972. She was a parishioner at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Madison Heights for 40 years. Lillian enjoyed visiting family and friends.
