A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 26 2014 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Parish-St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Freiburg. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Friday from 1-8pm or Saturday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. A scripture service will be offered on Friday at 7 pm at the funeral home.
Louise is survived by three daughters; Susan Schmidt of Ubly, Lucille (Bill) Burns of Ubly, Mary (Ted) Sache of Madison Heights; five sons; Ray (Diane) Walsh of Howell, Jerry (Mary) Walsh of Welling, OK, Lawrence (Carol) Walsh of Bad Axe, Wendel Walsh of Bad Axe, Chuck (Barb) Walsh of Ubly; nephew Dan (Sue) Jacoby of Reading; brothers and sisters-in-law; Louis (Rosalie) Walsh of Ubly, Joe (Patricia) Walsh of Ubly, Susan Brown of LaMesa, CA, Rita Walsh of Bad Axe, Donna Walsh of Cass City, Geraldine Walsh of Mi, Shirley Walsh of Mi; twenty-one grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walsh; one son; Philip Walsh of GA; her parents; Harry and Vesta Sackett of Battle Creek; five siblings; Fred Sackett, Earl Sackett, Frances Caldwell, Edith Carnes, all of Battle Creek, and Marie Jacoby of Reading; one son-in-law; Joseph A. Schmidt Sr. of Ubly; one daughter-in-law; Frances Walsh of Bad Axe; one granddaughter; Jeannie M. Schmidt; one great grandson; Hezekiah Schmidt; father and mother-in-law; Walter and Susan (McMillan) Walsh of Ubly; Eight brothers and sisters-in-law; Beatrice Bauman of Battle Creek, Leo Walsh of Ubly, Mike Walsh of Ubly, Lila (Grant) Lamphere of Highland, Maurice Walsh of Ubly, Mark (Delores) Walsh of Ubly, Daniel Walsh of Farmington and Harold Brown of CA.
Louise Helen Walsh, 89 of Ubly passed away on July 22, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital of Saginaw, with family by her side. Louise was born May 4 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Harry R. and Vesta L. (Benfer) Sackett. She married Raymond W. Walsh on July 5, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Together, they made their home in Ubly, Michigan; raised nine children; and were parishioners at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish, Frieburg. Louise enjoyed reading, puzzle books, playing cards and the piano, quilting, gardening, watching soap operas, listening to old time country and gospel music, church socials, and countryside drives. She especially took pleasure in the good company of her family and friends.
