Funeral Services for Lucille will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Lucille will be Wednesday from 3-7pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. Memorials may be given to the St. John Barnabas Fund, Alzheimer’s Research, or Courtney Manor. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
She is survived by her daughter Myrna Lamb, son Doug Howard, three granddaughters: Becky (Tom) Block, Rhonda (Rick) Beard and Sue (Ed) Discher, 6 great grandchildren: Special great grandson Travis and great granddaughters: Heide, Lindsay (Josh) Noelle, Ashley and Jamie (Matt), 6 great great grandchildren: Adyson, Reagan, Elaine, Carson, Fisher & Olivia, and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was welcomed to her heavenly home by her husband Ben, son Butch, daughter Linda, grandsons: Mike and Kevin, great grandson Corey, great granddaughter Seana, one sister and eight “Bender Boys” as she called her brothers. The family of Lucille wishes to thank every single person at Courtney Manor for the excellent care, love and respect they shared to our mom and grandma. You were her extended family and she loved all of you. Also thank you to Pastor Dodge for your visits and prayers for Mom.
LUCILLE MASCHKE, age 94 of Port Hope, has completed her work here on earth on Sunday, March 19, 2017 and has gone to her home in heaven. Lucille was born on December 25, 1922 at home at the Bender Farm to the late Albert and Olga (Steinhurst) Bender. She married Ben Maschke on August 17, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2008. Lucille was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, She was the first cook at the Lutheran School and Cleaned/Painted/Wallpapered many homes in Port Hope. Lucille loved her Lord and trusted him completely, her deep faith and devotion to her Lord was evident in everything she had done.
